Below are other volunteering opportunities available within the Male Journey. Please contact tim@malejourney.org.uk or hugh@malejourney.org.uk if you are interested in one of the roles listed.

Funding Application Writer
The Male Journey is seeking funding from charitable organisations to expand access to our Rites of Passage programme through bursaries for men who might otherwise be unable to participate. To achieve this, we require one or more individuals to lead the development of funding bids, which typically range from 1,000 to 6,000 words. As our experience with formal applications is limited, we’re looking for someone who can work independently, take initiative, and assemble a small team of reviewers to ensure quality and alignment with funder expectations.

Administration Costs Fund Raiser
The Male Journey has a need to raise funds to cover some basic administration costs. The funds might be achieved by finding a number of suitable donors or Male Journey might introduce a voluntary annual membership contribution. You would be in charge of exploring how it could be done and taking the proposal for sign off to the Trustee’s.

Support for the Google Workspace and Administration
We have a role for an administrator for the Male Journey’s google workspace area. The workspace maintains our documents and malejourney.org.uk email accounts. From time to time new accounts need to be created and old ones removed. You will need to be fairly confident with IT technology for this role and training will be provided but you also need to be capable of doing your own investigations, resolve issues and develop
new features of the platform.

Content Publishing & Curation for Male Journey UK
We are seeking someone to lead the coordination and strategic placement of short videos and podcasts across Male Journey UK’s social media platforms and beyond. While a range of valuable materials already exists, they require thoughtful curation to ensure relevance, accessibility, and alignment with our mission.
-
Maintain and curate a central spreadsheet of video and podcast content relevant to Male Journey UK
-
Ensure all media links back to the Male Journey website, supporting visibility and application pathways for men
-
Build and support a team of content creators to produce engaging short-form videos and podcasts
-
Work independently with passion, initiative, and minimal supervision
-
Commit to a long-term vision—approximately three years—to develop a sustainable strategy for future outreach
-
Liaise with the Rites team via convenors to source and review materials
-
Collaborate with the Communications and Engagement action circle as needed
-
Act as the central point of contact for other content creators within the Male Journey.

This role is ideal for someone who combines creative energy with strategic thinking, and who values the deeper purpose behind Male Journey UK’s work.

Video and Podcast Creator
Do you have a gift for crafting short videos and podcasts that spark curiosity and inspire reflection? Are you drawn to the transformative power of Rites of Passage and the deeper work of Male Journey UK? If so, we’d love to work with you.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with the Content Publishing Coordinator to produce compelling media that amplifies our message—not just across Male Journey’s social media channels, but also within wider communities that resonate with our mission. Your work will help men discover the Rites and take meaningful steps toward personal
growth.

-
Confidence in filming, audio recording, and editing content into concise, engaging formats
-
A creative eye and ear for storytelling that connects emotionally and spiritually
-
A willingness to explore new platforms and communities beyond our existing reach
-
A collaborative spirit, working closely with our publishing team while maintaining creative autonomy.
Article Writer
There is a great need to spread awareness of the Rites of Passage. Are you able to write articles about the need for modern Rites of Passage for men to be published in newsletters for organisations that may have an interest in men’s work. If so, we'd love to hear from you.

Local Groups Action Circle
We’re looking for a committed individual to join our Local Groups Action Circle and help nurture the heart of Male Journey work at the local level.
In this role, you’ll stay personally connected with a subset of the local group stokers and convenors, building trusted relationships and gaining insight into the rhythms, challenges, and strengths of each group. In this way the members of the Local Groups Action Circle will maintain full connection with all of our Male Journey groups. You will actively participate in the Local Groups Action Circle, taking on shared responsibilities, helping the circle to respond to emerging needs with care and creativity. You will co-host a regular online Stokers Circle, rotating facilitation with other Action circle members. Help convene an annual weekend gathering for local stokers—a space for connection, reflection, and collaborative problem-solving.
This is a role for someone who thrives on relationship-building, values deep listening, and is energized by collective purpose. If you’re ready to help strengthen the roots of our movement, we’d love to hear from you.
