We are a gathering of men aged 18 and over who are seeking deeper connection, honest conversation, contemplation, and a place to be real.

We meet on the third Monday of every month in Bisley, near Woking. Our evening usually begins at 6.30pm with a gentle 45-minute walk, followed at 7.30pm by a time of sharing, reflection, support, encouragement, or simply being together in silence. When the weather allows, we may gather around a campfire.
Our meetings begin with a short time of silence. From there, we share where we are on our journey through life. We use a talking piece, which helps create space, stillness and a different quality of listening from the kind of conversation we often experience in everyday life.

We follow a process called Way of Council. This helps us create a safe and respectful space where each man can be heard without interruption. It is not about giving advice, fixing one another, debating, or performing. It is about listening deeply, speaking honestly, and allowing each man to be received as he is.
​
In our gatherings, men are invited to share whatever feels important: thoughts, feelings, struggles, questions, hopes, silence, or simply the truth of where they find themselves. Often a question or theme will be sent out before the meeting to prompt reflection, but the invitation is always for each man to speak what is most important for him to say at that time.
​
There is no hidden agenda. We gather to support one another through presence, deep listening, honesty and acceptance, helping each other become more fully who we are meant to be.
​
Our gatherings are open to all men, regardless of age, ethnicity, religious faith, sexual orientation, education, background, experience, ability or disability. Whether you are curious and coming for the first time, or have been walking with The Male Journey and contemplative work for many years, you will be welcomed with love, respect and acceptance.

You do not need to have the right words.
You do not need to have it all together.
You can come just as you are.
You belong.​

Where we meet
We meet in the grounds and buildings of St John the Baptist Church, Bisley, close to Woking.

The setting is within the beautiful, leafy village of Bisley. The 13th-century parish church of St John the Baptist was donated by the monks of Chertsey Abbey. It features a medieval bell and a 15th-century porch, said to have been made from a single oak. Nearby is the spring known as the Holy Well of St John the Baptist, once believed to have medicinal powers.
​
For us, this is a place of stillness, depth and renewal. A place where men can come as they are, rest, belong, speak their truth, and draw from a deeper well.
