South Shropshire

 

The South Shropshire Men's Group, under the guidelines of The Male Journey, aims to:

“Create spaces for deep transformation that enable men of all backgrounds to connect and grow”

We provide spaces where men can:

 

• be vulnerable without being judged or shamed

• share their emotions openly

• let go of those patterns and beliefs that no longer serve them

• rediscover and reconnect with the power of nature and mystery

• establish true relationships with authenticity and integrity

South Shropshire looks to provide men a safe space to belong, learn, find support, share, and dare to express their deeper and authentic themselves. This includes exploring the positive benefits of weakness, failure and other common experiences of the journey, rather than running or hiding from them.

 

There are about 600 members of TMJ in this country and 6,000 in the world. Please have a look through the website for more information on the Vision and Mission of The Male Journey and events such as The Rites of Passage experience.

We meet under what are known as Way of Council. In our sharing time:
 
We are lean in speech ~ i.e.  We’re not here to natter but speak to the core of things
We listen from the heart ~ to what people are really saying
We speak from the heart ~ we’re spontaneous, real and use 'I' statements
Everyone is invited to share but no one is obliged

 

Confidentiality is honoured and must be respected at all times. This means what is shared in circle stays there and is not discussed outside of the group, without permission. We’re not here to fix, judge, interrupt or contradict ~ what each person says is valuable, not challenged.

 

We meet monthly on the Second Thursday of every month at the Ludlow Quaker Meeting House in St Mary's Lane, Ludlow.

We start arriving around 7:00pm for social time followed by prompt start of the sharing circle at 7:30pm and finishing for around 9:30pm.
