About the event
Brothers,
We are thrilled to invite you to our annual Moot, where we come together in brotherhood to reflect on and share our experiences of doing the work; both as individuals and as a collective. Whether you are a newly or recently initiated man, one of our many elders, or are an active member of a local circle, we are excited to welcome you!
This year’s Moot is set to be one of our most important yet, and your presence is a vital part of helping us to reflect on a year of significant change and chart our course for the future. Here’s why you should join us:
Meaningful connection: The Moot is a unique opportunity to step into liminal space and connect deeply with yourself and your brothers. We eat good food together, start our days with morning movement and contemplative sits, and sit in circle together drumming, listening and sharing.
Connect with nature: We’ll spend time in nature, connecting with the earth and exploring and sharing our personal journeys.
Share and celebrate: This is a space for your spirit, your creativity, and your passion - bring your music, poems, songs, and stories to share. Everyone is invited to contribute, creating a vibrant and joyous atmosphere.
Reflect and plan: We’ll reflect on the past year—what happened, what went well, and what we learned. We’ll express gratitude and consider how our experiences can enhance our future work.
Influence our future: Recently we have been exploring our sense of direction and purpose. Based on your feedback, the trustees have developed proposals that need your input. This is your chance to help shape the future of The Male Journey.
Step up together: Towards the end of our time together, we’ll dedicate ourselves to supporting each other to volunteer for roles that will help us achieve our goals for the coming year. Your participation is crucial in ensuring our collective success (although it is not compulsory to step up).
The details:
Location: We are returning to the warm, comfortable and communal Dukes Barn Outdoor Activity Centre which is set in the Peak District.
