MOOT 2020

Friday Evening 7pm 30 October – Sunday 2pm 1 November

Storywells and Songlines of our Belonging

The business of stories is not enchantment.

The business of stories is not escape.

The business of stories is waking up. ‘’ Martin Shaw, Storyteller and Rites Guide.

Who helps the boy find his way in the wild dark forest? What is it that guides him to find an oasis in the blistering desert sun? What paths and people or animals and angels invite him? What does he need to say ‘’Yes’’ to? What infinite horizon might he begin to glimpse?

Discovering our stories and song lines can help us connect with a shared wisdom on the paths we might take in times of trouble. Our imagination and longings can open new doors to places of encounter and adventure within ourselves and with others. The 2020 Moot is a time to open ourselves afresh to the possibilities that emerge through story and the gift of the imagination. Together we might learn to say ‘Thanks’ for all that has been and ‘Yes’ to all that is to come.

This year we will gather on-line to share ritual and the weaving of stories in order to walk the path of our return.

Registration is now open until Saturday 24th of October.

Men who are reading this you are both invited and welcomed to our annual gathering.

You will be required to give your postal address as a ritual pack needs to be sent that will enable every man to be in the rituals. If you are not “in the ritual” then it is not a ritual.

We will follow our normal practice of time spent in the whole group and using Way of Council Guidelines when in your smaller home groups with whom you will also be encouraged to share breakfast's.

You will be expected to attend the whole event and make that commitment to the brothers that you will be working with throughout the weekend. There will be five sessions that will also leave the flexibility for you to also attend to the other demands of daily life.

Cost is £25. In order to be able to offer bursaries it would be appreciated if you are able to pay more you do so when registering. Suggested TMJ support fee would be £35.
